Congratulations to our democratically elected school council reps!
After sharing nomination speeches stating why they would be a good class representative, all children took part in a secret ballot mimicking the democratic electoral process in Britain.
As part of our learning around British Values we take part and support Parliament Week and visit the Houses of Parliament.
Clutton Pupil Council help school leaders to make decisions about day to day life in school, such as sopporting the development of OPAL lunchtimes, and deciding on which local and national charities we wish to support this year.
In 2019/2020, the children have chosen to support the national charity NSPCC (following workshops and assemblies in 2018/2019) and Bath Cats and Dogs Home. The pupils at Clutton School are justifiably proud of the charity work we do throughout the year. This links to our school vision of being appreciative of how lucky we are.
Their role includes gaining the opinions of ALL the children in their class and feeding that back to the council. As a school, we are keen to develop and recognise many groups of leaders within our community, for example Head Boy / Head Girl; House Captains; Year 6 / EYFS buddies; librarians.
